SUNDAY ANGELS

Cookie had her babies this morning, starting at 7:54 Am with the last being born 11:36 AM, she has 3 females and 1 male. Marble's baby was born on the 21st, a sweet little girl. Below is a slide show of our precious babies.

DO WE REALLY WANT TO BE BREEDERS???

We have had a long day today, Marble started nesting last night around seven. Needless to say I didn't sleep much listening out for her and getting up every two hours to check on her. She finally started labor this morning and at 12:07 PM hard labor started, at 2:30 we called the Vet as nothing had happened, (we had had x-rays on Monday and knew that she was having 3). We made the trip to the Vet's office 54 miles away, she had 6 more contractions, but not hard, she slept most of the trip. They gave her an oxytocin shot and at 4:25 she gave birth to a healthy 7 oz girl, at 4:45 she had a very tiny stillborn girl, then at 5:15 another tiny 3 oz girl. On the way home the tiny girl was nursing real good and moving around great,so we felt that all would be okay. We got home and put Marble and her 2 adorable pups in her crate, they were moving all around, nursing good and Molly was being a good Mom and cleaning them. I left the room and went to the kitchen to ask Allan to come help me get some pictures showing the differences in their sizes. On the way back down the hall, I heard one of the babies cry out and ran in the bedroom to find Marble biting into and shaking the tiny girl, she had several punctures on her face and chest. That was at 6:50 and she fought for her life until a little after 10, I know animals have that sixth sense and know when there is something wrong with their babies, and the way of nature is to destory it, but it was very hard to let the little girl go, and to accept that Marble had done that as she is such a gentle soul...I hope we don't have to go though this too many times, or we will have to give up breeding as it's just too painful.
Cookie is also due this week, but I am no longer looking forward to it, as I worry there could be a repeat of today. One thing I can promise you is breeding pups isn't as easy as it may sound if you really care about your pups.

BEACH TIME

We took the baker's dozen to the beach for a couple of days last week, and they were happy as they got to go golf cart riding a couple of times. We won't be able to go to the beach many times this summer as we will be having babies.. Found out today that Cookie is expecting 4 and Marble 3, they should be born this week. Blondie is expecting in July, so we are going to have a busy summer....

LADY'S PUPS

We paid a visit today to two of Lady's pups that will be 6 months old on the 17th. Bella and Baci and they were beautiful, I so hate that I didn't have the camera with us to get some picture so everyone could see how pretty they are. Bella, has Lady's features and Baci's has Shade's. Lynn and Mark have given them such a loving home,they are so happy and well adjusted, that it just made our week to vist with them.
Thanks Lynn and Mark for giving Lady and Shade's babies such a great home and allowing us to visit, we enjoyed it so much.
